Does my Great Dane have skin problems?
I have a 9 mo old Great Dane, and she is my pride and joy. Best college graduation gift I could have been given. However, I am worried about her skin. It does not appear discolored at all, but she frequently (softly) bites her feet and legs. She also licks her armpits a lot. The biting doesn’t seem like she is itching or anything, so it may just be due to her teeth growing in. I am more worried about the licking. When she was about 6 months old I noticed she was pick around her belly and had some pimple-looking bumps, and immediately took her to the vet. The Dr. told me that it was nothing to worry about, just due to the alabama heat. The redness went away in a week or two and never returned. I am a graduate student and don’t want to pay the vet every time I have any worries, could you tell me if this is serious? It doesn’t seem to bother her much, but I don’t want anything to happen to her!

My Great Dane does the same thing. It worried me a lot because I was also thinking he had skin problems so I took him to the vet who told me nothing is wrong some dogs just do that.
