Best Food Gifts
What is Louisiana best know for? (food and gifts)?
I’m going to be traveling to Lousiana this year. I’m trying to find out what great souvenirs (food products or culturally/regionally products) that I should buy for folks here at home. I know that here in Washington, we are known for apples, salmon, etc. What is Lousiana known for and what food items do you think I should consider picking up? Preferably items that don’t require refrigeration.
Here are some suggestions that do not require refrigeration:
Pralines (Aunt Sally’s are great), hot sauces, can of Community Coffee or Cafe’ Du Monde Coffee, pouch of Pat O’Brien’s hurricane mix, creole mustard, and muffuletta olives.
As far as non-food gifts, typical items are mardi gras beads, alligator heads, voodoo stuff, and anything with a Fleur de Lis on it.
