DIY CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS?
I need some ideas for homemade christmas gifts. things like cookie recipes, ideas, patterns, etc…any help would be greatly appreciated. please provide links and as much info as possible…i don’t want to have to spend alot of money, but i still want these to look good. thanks again guys!!!!

There’s everything from gifts in a jar, to personalized stationery, bookmarks, wreaths, etc. that are all simple and inexpensive to make.
One of my favorite gifts to give is pillowcases made with fabric to meet the persons taste. Go online and you can find novelty fabric for about $7 a yard, (check out http://www.jandofabrics.com/categories.asp?id=4) and you only need 1 yard to make a pillowcase. As long as you can do a straight stitch on a sewing machine you can make a pillowcase.
The most time consuming part of making the pillowcase is the ironing. I lay the fabric out and then fold down the top edge (the longer edge) about 3 1/2 inches, that will be the fold part, and iron that seam. Then I tuck under the rough edge about 1/4 inch and iron that. Next sew that tucked under seam. Then i fold the fabric in half with the right sides together and iron that fold. Then sew along the two rough edges and turn the pillowcase right side out and you’re done. ( I have found that doing a zig zag stich along those last two edges after they are sewn together with a straight stitch will keep it from fraying.)
