Gift Basket Boutique
Are these good hostess gifts? Do I need to add anything else?
We are spending the holiday with an Aunt who lives out of town. We are having Thanksgiving dinner at a cousin’s house.
For the Aunt, I got a gift basket of gourmet chocolates and truffles from a high-end local boutique. I thought it was cool, because it’s local, and something she can’t get in her area.
For the cousin, I got an organic bottle of French vintage Cabernet to go with the dinner.
Is this OK? Do I need to get anything else? We will be staying with the Aunt for 3 nights, and just having dinner/visiting with the cousin.
By ‘we’ I mean my Fiance and myself – we don’t have a huge slew of people descending upon her house. 
The wine is VERY nice. However, leave it up to your hostess as to whether or not she opens it for that meal. It is hers to do with as she pleases. Likely, she already has something planned for this meal. She might wish to save it for another occasion
The chocolates are a good idea. You might want to supplement them with one of those nice handsoap pump and hand lotion duo’s or a small something else (since you are getting free lodging from her).
