What should we do about a baby shower when we dont know the gender of the baby?
I’m 30 weeks along, and we dont know the gender of our baby because the umbilical cord was between the legs at the ultrasound. No, its not an option to get another one. Insurance will only cover it if there is a medical concern about the baby.
My family and friends arent sure what to do about the baby shower.
If we wait til AFTER the baby is born: We wont know how much stuff we need to buy prior to the birth. We could end up with too much stuff if we buy it all ourselves, and then get more stuff at the shower after the birth. Plus, I’ll be a zombie with a baby attached to my chest all day, trying to entertain guests. OY!
If we do the shower BEFORE the birth: people wont know what colors to buy and we LOATHE the neutral look.
Everyone agrees its not kosher (lol) to just ask for gift cards or something. So we’re at a loss.
What would you do?
You guys are missing the fact that we said we HATE neutral stuff, and everyone agrees its rude to ASK for gift cards.
I had a babyshower and didnt know the sex of my child everyone bought me unisex things and some people even got me 1 girl offit and 1 boy offit and gave me they saved the recepite (omg i can not spell it lol) and we took back the boy things and exchanged it for girl stuff. i only did that with family with friends i just had them buy unisex stuff and as far as bedding we had to do unisex for that it was blue jean teddy bears ♥ good luck and congrats!
