How much can you sell homemade gift baskets for?
I want to start selling homemde gift baskets online. Generally they’ll be made out of cute baskets in all different styles,filler (easter basket string or gift bag filler) and a cute wrapping with a bow. For Holidays i’ll make them with a holiday theme. I want to make different kinds. Some with all candies. Some with different lotions,soaps,sprays. Some with candles,insense and stuff like that.
So what’s the going average price I should put on them? I was thinking between 10 and 50 bucks depending on what’s in them. Only the really big ones with lots of higher priced items will be 50.
Opinions and advice, please?
As hotwild said, look around to find similar and go from there, A good rule to go by would be,
A) What do the supplies cost you $ ie: shipping box’s, wrapping, filler, etc ( can you purchase wholesale?)
B) How much do the items cost you to purchase for each size basket $
C) How much time is involved in assembly ?
D) keeping Records,
E) Are you shipping or delivering, or pick up ?
Saying $10.00 to $50.00 is fine, just remember you want to make a profit, how much is up to you, 10% or more above COSTS or what ? This is the area you must think through, it will make or break you, if you can or cannot sell for a profit.
