Romantic Picnic Baskets
opinions on my romantic idea?
ok so for my love’s birthday i want to do something special
i was thinking of making a picnic basket and setting it up with a blanket and candles and radio on the beach.
now the thing is:
he comes home from work at about 3.45pm, please help me choose idea 1 or idea 2
idea 1: he comes home as usual and at about 5pm i send him back to his house. when he leaves i head for the beach and set up the blanket food etc. when i am ready i text him and give him special directions where to find me
idea 2: i tell him not to come and see me till 5pm. as idea 1, i prepare the things on the beach and then message him to tell him where to find me
which is best 1 or 2?
also what can i add to it to make it better?

he works in catering and i live on an island near italy

As far as things go, it seems pretty solid for a romantic suprise, but one thing though, what kind of job does he have? Is it high-stress or pretty easy going. Either way it shouldn’t effect the gesture, but you may need to calibrate for winding down time (which incidentally might give you a little more time to prepare for something extra special).
5pm…I don’t rightly know where you live, but if this picnic lasts through to dusk, then what about staying out for a little star-gazing too? Maybe get a little campfire going. Heck, take a blanket with you too if it gets chilly.
Both ideas are fine. As long as you work in enough time for both of you to be relaxed enough to enjoy the moment without ‘outside-life’ rearing it’s ugly head, then go for it.
With the texting, why not give him clues where to find you instead of outright telling him where to meet you?
Leave him breadcrumbs.
