Sympathy Fruit Basket
I am looking for ideas for a unique sympathy gift.?
My neighbor’s step-mother just passed away yesterday, and I’d like to get him something other than the usual flowers or fruit basket. He himself is very ill (needs a kidney transplant, dialysis 3 times per week) and when he was first ill his wife commented on the waste of fruit from all the baskets they were getting and couldn’t keep up with eating. HELP! He’s not a real emotional person, either, so a plaque or something isn’t appropriate, and of course it was his STEP mother, who he’s had in his life only since he was about 30 years old.
Due to his illness, he is a bit angry with God right now, so nothing religious. And, as he’s not an emotional person, nothing “sappy”.
