I am making a gift basket for the family of my boss who lives here in Canada. They have had a death in the family in Pakistan. Was wondering if there is something of there culture I could include.

No there is no such traditional sympathy gift in Pakistan.
Usually neighbors and relatives provide the food to the family members for couple of days and help them in some of their daily chores.
