Wine And Cheese Combinations

Grapes and cheese and anything else?
I’m not a great lover of cheese, except on pizza, hamburgers or mac and cheese. I’m not one of those people who can just eat chunks of cheese by itself. However, a friend came to work with a bowl of large, red seedless grapes, some walnuts and little cubes of cheddar cheese. I didn’t realize this combination was so delicious. She said you could put other fruits in along with the cheese, and so I’m wondering if you all have any other combinations of fruit and cheeses and anything else that goes well with that? I always saw movies and pictures of the Europeans having wine with cheese and grapes, and now I know why, it’s so good! It’s a very easy breakfast to have at your desk too! You have your fruit, your dairy and your walnuts. Any more combination suggestions?
Crusty breads( much better then crackers), fresh fruits such as brown pears and apples, grapes and berries. Fruit pastes( membrillo which is quince paste ( used mostly in Spain) is delicious and now easily available in cheese stores all over the world. You can also use fruit jams as an accompaniment, Strawberry, Raspberry etc etc.
Blue cheeses( my favs) are especially delicious with sweet jams and sweet wines such as Sauternes and Ports but also go well with strong reds.Blues are also great is salads with dried cranberries and walnuts.
If your having a variety of cheese but only want to serve one wine, always choose Riesling because Rieslings go well with all cheeses.
Keep in mind that only very strong cheeses go with red wines. The majority of cheeses go with white wines( contrary to what people believe)
